Sharing stories is what first inspired me to pick up a camera, and it continues to do so. Nowadays, those stories are of people in love, which is pretty amazing. I feel so grateful to pursue such a connective form of art — preserving heart-filled moments for some of the coolest, kindest, most magnetic humans I’ve ever met.
Although I approach my work earnestly, I’m easygoing by nature. I strive to live fully without getting lost in the pursuit of perfection. In my heart of hearts, I’m a romantic, forever finding magic in everyday occurrences. There’s no other way I’d rather see the world.
I grew up in Colorado and have since lived in many other remarkable places — from Perugia, Italy to Rincón, Puerto Rico. But for every time I’ve ventured out, every time I’ve thought ‘oh I could totally be nomadic and travel the world full-time,’ I’ve wound up back in the American West.
There’s just something about it. Maybe it’s the feeling John Denver sings about, or maybe I’ve just watched Legends of the Fall one too many times. But this slice of the country? It has a piece of my soul. I’m incredibly fortunate to call it home.
